Day Visitors

This page is intended for those who wish to organize a group passing through Taizé for a day. Whether you have been here before or are coming for the first time, please read these guidelines carefully to understand the purpose of a visit to Taizé and to help the young people make the most of their stay.
General information
When you come to Taizé you are welcomed by a community characterized from the beginning by two aspirations: going forward in a life of communion with God through personal and community prayer, and taking responsibilities to place a leaven of peace and trust in the human family.
The meetings at Taizé are held around the community of brothers. With them, all the participants meet morning, midday and evening for community prayer. That is the essential aspect of life at Taizé. Those who are passing through are invited to take part. They can also meet with a member of the welcome team and see a 15-minute video that presents Taizé.
The brothers are happy to welcome you for prayer, but unfortunately are unable to meet with groups passing through. The young people from the welcome team will take care of your welcome.
The best thing for groups passing through is to arrive in the morning, and to take part in midday prayer during the week (12:20pm) or the Eucharist on Sunday (10am):
- During the week arrive at about 11am, welcome, video, conversation, 12:20pm community prayer
- Sunday arrive at about 9:30am, 10am Eucharist, 11:30am welcome, video, conversation
You can take your meal with the young people present. The meal is very simple, distributed under a tent (5 euros per person). You can also bring your own packed lunch.
