Coming to Taizé as

Adults

Taizé welcomes adults over the age of 35 in addition to young people aged 15 to 35. However, due to the large number of young people and the very simple accommodation conditions, we ask them to understand certain limitations and not to come more than once a year. Adults can come individually or as a couple, but we cannot accept groups of adults. Adults are welcome for a week (from Sunday to Sunday), or for a few days at the beginning of the week (arriving on Sunday) or at the end of the week (leaving on Sunday). Longer stays are not possible. Adults can only be welcomed to Taizé at certain times of the year. Please check when we can welcome adults this year. A stay of only one night would be too short to get into the rhythm of the life. We cannot welcome those who are just passing through.

When you come to Taizé, we expect you to remain here throughout your stay, taking part in the rhythm of the day; the most important aspect is the community prayer three times a day. After receiving your registration request, the welcome team will confirm if you can come at that time or if it is necessary to change the dates.

General information

Dates

In 2025, we welcome adults over 35 from Sunday April 6 to Sunday October 19, except for the week of August 24–31.

Adults over 35 who are able should avoid coming during certain busy times: Holy Week and Easter Weed (between April 13 and 27), Ascension week (May 25 to June 1), and from mid-July to August 24. The following periods are not so busy: April 6–13; April 27 to May 24; June 1 to July 13; August 31 to October 19.

The meetings always take place from Sunday to Sunday. The exceptions to this rule are the two weeks around Easter, during which the day of arrival and departure is Monday. In 2025, this means

(A weekend stay from Thursday or Friday to Sunday is also possible, although it is preferable to stay for a full week. A weekend stay with arrival on Saturday morning is too short to get into the rhythm of life at Taizé.)

Limits

We may not be able to accept late registrations for busy weeks. Please wait for our confirmation before planning your trip. We ask that adult groups not exceed 7 people, or in the case of a large group, not exceed 20% of the group (1 of 5). This limit also includes parents participating in the family program. Beyond the 7, two additional adults may come provided they accompany the 15-17 year olds in the group. We can sometimes make exceptions for groups coming from other continents, so please check with us before planning your trip. To avoid misunderstandings or disappointment, it is essential that organizers present the invitation to come to Taizé as a “group” only to those aged 15-35. A stay spanning two weeks is not possible.

Finally, please do not bring pets.
